Christmas at Tigerlily

Christmas at Tigerlily

Approaching my first Christmas in Social Media and Marketing with the Montpelier Group caused me a few sleepless nights, however I can honestly say Christmas in Hospitality especially working with the team at Montpeliers proved to be a huge and fun learning curve.

Girls Night at Tigerlily

Christmas Cocktail Club

The attention to detail when working with this highly experienced team, the focus on customer service and experience and all that goes on behind the scenes to bring these special events, Christmas Cocktails, DJ’s, Boozy Brunches, Style events, Influencer events and brand partnerships to our many venues not least the always beautiful Tigerlily. First and foremost, our priority is making the festive season special for our many loyal customers all while hosting birthdays, celebrations, work lunches and Christmas parties for our extended client base and those visiting Edinburgh.

We started off the festivities promoting our Christmas Cocktail Club from late October, something that always proves to be a huge success across our venues. The main focus is to provide delicious cocktails at very affordable prices, exclusive to our old and new customers who purchase one of our cocktail wristbands, these are available during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Christmas period!

Our Christmas Cocktail Club wristbands were available to use from the 17th November-31st December and the wristbands could be used at any time, day or night, in any of our venues on any of the cocktails available on our exclusive Christmas Cocktail Club menu. This also gave you free access to Lulu on any night apart from Sundays before 11pm. Please get in touch if you would like to be notified of any further information or follow @tigerlilyedinburgh Instagram account to be kept up to date with future events, promotions or wristbands.

Not only was I promoting the Christmas Cocktail Club from early October and starting to put together my bloggers list of invitees I was also assisting in planning and promoting a fantastic event called ‘Sip and Style the Season’ alongside the wonderful stylist Leigh Maybury, Edinburgh’s coolest alternative salon Bleach Please, the girlie make-up brand Benefit and clothing brand Mint Velvet. If you would like to follow the accounts I have included their social media accounts.

Selling out in less than 24 hours, the event was a huge success and I was delighted that it was enjoyed by so many of you! Combining the brands involved ethos behind the event and hosting this at Tigerlily provided the perfect venue and backdrop to offer all those who came along inspiring ideas behind looks taking you from ‘office to party’, ‘girl’s day out’ and everything in between. Not only was the event about feeling the best version of yourself but also giving women the confidence to style their own hair, make up and choose an outfit that would make them feel fab over the festive period! Tigerlily provided a cocktail on arrival for each of the lovely ladies attending who all enjoyed our very popular ‘Tinsel Town’ Christmas cocktail.

After the success of the Sip and Style the Season event the focus shifted back to our Christmas Cocktail Club, over the duration of December it was time to handpick a selection of current influencers and bloggers to join us at Tigerlily to sample the menu, receive their own cocktail band and hopefully enjoy promoting the event! We were delighted to welcomed the following influencers throughout the festive season and we hope you enjoyed using your Christmas Cocktail Club bands.

CHRISTMAS COCKTAIL MENU

Wonderhouse Event

Not only did we have these bloggers in on individual dates across December we also hosted an exclusive cocktail event on Tuesday 3rd December which was organised by the marketing company Wonderhouse.

Our Bar Development Manager the always fun and highly professional Joey Medrington talked us through three fantastic cocktails from our Christmas Cocktail Club menu, gave us a lesson in mixology, garnishing and how to serve our cocktails while also chatting about the development process of our newest cocktail menu and the direction in which we hope to be taking with Tigerlily in 2020.

For this event we had a fantastic variety of bloggers and influencers who were a mix of make-up artists, fitness, lifestyle and fashion bloggers. At the event each influencer received a beautiful tote bag with huge thanks to Wonderhouse including a stunning Whitley Neill gift set and environmentally friendly Vasso straws!

Festive Boozy Brunch!

Running alongside Christmas Cocktail Club the team were working hard to bring the much loved ‘Festive Boozy Brunch’, made a little bit extra special with a visit from Santa. This event also offered our exclusive Christmas Cocktails with a cocktail on arrival. Alongside this all of our Boozy Brunches at Tigerlily feature a DJ, sharing platter, breakfast main and three glasses of prosecco for a fantastic price of £35.00 per person, think everyone can agree this is always a great fun day out!

Christmas Eve, where to go?

December was beginning to get hectic and as always I had looked at a few venues to take my family to for our annual Christmas Eve dinner. This has fallen to me now to carry on a much loved family tradition started by our greatly missed grandparents. I genuinely considered not ‘taking the family’ to one of my work venues, looked around at a few of the up and coming venues in Edinburgh only to decide if I do say so myself there was nowhere better to go than our very own Tigerlily.

Decision Time!

Tigerlily offered a beautiful set Christmas dinner menu of three courses for £36 per head. I couldn’t fault the welcome upon our arrival. Greeted by the always friendly and fun Hostess, Jules who many of you will know from her many years with the Tigerlily team. We were seated at one of the beautiful round tables to the left hand side of the restaurant and once seated received a complimentary glass of prosecco.

There was a wonderful selection of food to choose from on the Christmas menu and after some debate I ordered the Wild mushroom & coriander spring rolls to start, for mains I had the Randang slow braised Scottish ox cheek- which was absolutely delicious, I’ve never tasted a sauce quite like it, that was rich, creamy and a little bit nutty followed by a classic I.J.Mellis Cheeseboard for dessert! Not only did everyone loved their own food choices ranging from Christmas Dinner to the Mulled Wine Poached Pear dessert but as we all were also wearing our Christmas Cocktail Club wristbands we indulged in a few Christmas Cocktails! Mum particularly enjoyed the ‘Gingerbread Man’ cocktail.

Overall Tigerlily has been a huge part of my December, through my work, treating my girlfriends to a Christmas Cocktail, assisting with the Sip and Style the Season event, promoting our Festive Boozy Brunch, partaking in the press shoot for the Christmas Cocktail Club and also bringing good friends from London to enjoy dinner there on Boxing Day. What I can honestly say is that whatever the occasion whether it’s a couple of cocktails, a three course dinner, brunch, lunch or a style event Tigerlily still has it well and truly covered over the festive season in a way quite unlike any other!
