Tattu Edinburgh Industry & Neighbours Opening
I was delighted to attend the launch of the much anticipated ‘Tattu Edinburgh’ on Thursday 17th October.
The new Tattu is situated in the architecturally stunning St Andrews Square on West Register Street in a part of Edinburgh where some of the worlds biggest names in hospitality are now on our doorstep. Including Dishoom, Gaucho, The Ivy, Hawksmoor, The Edinburgh Grand & Lady Libertine not to mention Edinburgh’s Harvey Nichols Flagship store offering cocktails, dinner & nibbles on the Forth Floor alongside three floors of designer shopping & stunning views over the city.
“Tattu delivers contemporary Chinese cuisine, fusing traditional flavours with modern cooking methods.”
Upon my arrival at Tattu I was warmly welcomed with a glass of prosecco & the offer on a chilly autumnal evening to take care of any winter coats or belongings.
We were then shown into the breathtaking restaurant, filled with beautiful cherry blossom trees covering the spectacular high ceilings with intricate oriental panels, contrasting against the stark black shadows in the secret corners of the room.
The striking but intimate bar area is situated to the front of Tattu, the perfect ambiance for a quick drink before you head to your table. While chatting with one of the friendly directors he explained that the emphasis is on the sensory dining experience & their creative in-house cocktail menu.
Over the next three months Tattu will run on a pre-booking system with no room for walk-ins, so I would recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. Like everyone, I can’t wait to dine there but have already booked ahead.
The launch of Tattu has been greatly anticipated & the canapés were an amazing taster of whats to come. Not only were we offered prosecco on arrival but we were kindly treated to sample cocktails from the menu.

Edinburgh Launch Night
Everything from the lighting, to the music, to the overall atmosphere highlights the attention to detail.
Ladies you are even in for a treat when powdering your nose in what can only be described as opulent individual dressing rooms, providing a boudoir style experience. They were grand & certainly made a statement situated at the end of a wall of floor to ceiling glass cabinets housing a vast selection of wines!
The Tattu launch was a fantastic evening, it is always great to meet new people at these events & catch up with a few old colleagues previously worked alongside during my many years in & out of Edinburgh’s hospitality industry. I can honestly say that you are in safe & very experienced hands with Tattu but don’t just take my word for it! I can only recommend you check out Edinburgh’s newest addition to its vibrant social scene for yourself.
It would truly be great for a night with friends, family or a ‘wow’ for that intimate dinner date.
Tattu, welcome to Edinburgh.
