Tigerlily | The Best Fun You Can Have Before 10pm

Tigerlily | The Best Fun You Can Have Before 10pm

When visiting Tigerlily, you can’t fail to realise that Autumn is upon us and for many it’s a welcome sign that the year 2020 is slowly drawing to an end. The wonderful team at WILD Flowers have incorporated the stunning rich and warm tones of Autumn leaves alongside the traditional pink flowers bedecking our newly finished Johnnie Walker Terrace.

Whether you wish to make the most of the last few weeks of light nights sitting under the black Johnnie Walker parasols, continue to dine alfresco while sipping on a ‘Tiger Apple’ with freshly juiced Granny Smith Apple and Johnnie Walker Black Label or venture inside to find a warm welcome, cosy corner and choose from our much loved range of ‘Stone Cold Classics’ where you can enjoy anything from a Collins to an Old Fashioned. We have a range of dining options and offers to suit all.

While we know the importance of the new restrictions, we also know how important it is to get out and socialise! The team at Tigerlily truly believe we can still offer you a fun and safe experience. It doesn’t always have to be about the evening, the ever popular Boozy Brunch still remains a George Street weekend staple for many of you. If you haven’t joined us for this before we cannot recommend it highly enough.

Even if we are your home city, have you been for an over-night stay with us yet? Why not book for dinner and cocktails with us, retire to your room at 10pm with drinks and join us once again for breakfast in the morning? Check out our room deals, they have never been better: https://www.tigerlilyedinburgh.co.uk/offers/bedroom-offers/scottish-citycation/

We thought it would be nice to take this opportunity to have a catch up with Jamie Crothall our Tigerlily General Manager who has been busy ensuring all our customers have a wonderful experience. The charismatic Jamie usually prefers to remain behind the scenes but our Social Media & Marketing Curator Georgia turned up every day until he agreed to have a picture taken at the wonderful Glenmorangie wall while answering a few questions.

What do you feel the customers at Tigerlily are enjoying the most when spending time in our venue since re-opening?

Since reopening back in July, we’ve been very fortunate to welcome many familiar faces back to Tigerlily, equally we’ve welcomed just as many new faces. There’s nothing quite like Tigerlily and I believe our customers are enjoying the sense of normality we’ve managed to create whist also adhering to the government guidelines. We’re still set on providing a friendly, safe, comfortable environment for people to come and eat, drink and stay – an opportunity to forget, just for a minute, about everything that’s happening around us.

Do you feel there have been many challenges since re-opening, how do you feel yourself and the team have handled these?

It has been a challenge, I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t - however with every challenge, there’s an opportunity. We’re continually reviewing our ways of working, our product offering and our guest experience – adapting to the ‘new normal’ as we put it. I can’t thank the team enough for their positivity and resilience over the last few months, they’ve taken everything in their stride and I have every confidence we will continue to do so; whatever comes our way.

If you were to enjoy a meal at Tigerlily, what would you choose and why?

For me, a dish that represents Tigerlily’s ethos on a plate, ‘A Menu Without Borders’ – a long standing favourite, Scottish Heatherfield Haggis ‘Spring Roll’ served traditionally with neeps, tatties and whisky sauce. We’ve not reinvented the wheel here, we’ve taken a traditional dish and applied some Asian influence to it. It’s a great eat, and a crowd pleaser for tourists and locals alike.

Can you tell us you’re go to ‘nightcap’?

In the job I do, I’m spoilt for choice. However, there’s nothing quite like a dram to see the night away. Whisky has been, and forever will be, my go to nightcap. If I had to choose, having spent time in Orkney at the start of the year, Highland Park is up there as one of my favourites; many happy memories to be had.

Whether you are joining us for brunch, lunch, dinner or one for the road all the team at Tigerlily are always delighted to see you. We know these are uncertain times but would like to thank you all for your custom. In the words of Jamie our General Manager we hope we can provide you with “An opportunity to forget, just for a minute, about everything that’s happening around us.”

We look forward to seeing you over Autumn, take care and stay safe.

Love,

Tiger x
